GFCIs with a "W" for "exterior" use ?

GFCIs with a "W" for "exterior" use ?

New postby Nolan Kienitz on Tue Apr 14, 2009 9:58 am

JP,

Was talking with a local (Dallas) electrician yesterday and he said the local Dallas AHJ was now looking for GFCIs (new construction) used at exterior locations to have a "W" stamp or listing.

I've done some web searches, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions for clarification?

Hi Nolan,

New one on me too.

I did some searching and came up empty too.

See if you can get any more information, thanks.

Nolan,

The obvious answer, which I totally missed, was that the 'W' they are talking about is 'WR'.

Bill provided the information in here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=152
