Please discuss the procedures you follow when inspecting a energized panelboard in the interior of a cabinet.

Hi Joe,

Glad to have you stop by here.

Better than me saying what I did (which was not the "safe" way) would be for you to explain *the proper and safe way* to inspect an energized panel, including photos of the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to wear.

Here is the 2009 NFPA 70E Annex H for the Simplified, Two-Category, Flame-Resistant (FR) Clothing System.

See the notes and use common sense when removing the cover from any cabinet to inspect the panelbard.
