4 Mains, 4 Panels?

Hi Jerry,

I have a new construction job that has no single main service disconnect.
There are four disconnects in four separate panels.
(Ironically, three panel covers are secured closed with screws! Only the pool panel can be opened without tools)
Don't all (up to six) disconnects have to be located inside the same panel?

Thank you,
Tim

Tim,

The requirement is that they be grouped together, such as shown in your photo.

But the covers are screwed on? Nope, that is not allowed as all overcurrent devices are to be "readily accessible" (no screws, etc) and also "each occupant shall have ready access" to the overcurrent devices ... and "ready access" is in the definition of "readily accessible", thus the meaning is essentially the same.
