Codeman:

Have you heard of any defect issues with cement-bonded particle board panels?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

No, I have not heard of issues with cement bonded particle board, nor have I had any personal experience with it as no contractor in my area is (to my knowledge) using it.

Is there a problem with it on a project you are on?

Yes, but because it is presently in litigation I am not free to discuss the details. Once the dust settles I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Aaron

I'll be looking forward to seeing the reason it failed, I have my reasons why I think that product would be prone to fail, but I will wait to see what you say when the litigation is done.

Maybe I'm just not a fan of walking on thin cement/concrete panels reinforced with processed wood fibers, or even "particles" glued together as in "particle board, or wood fibers glued together as in "hardboard". Place them on full supporting structural panels and, yeah, I can see good possibilities then, but serving as the structural panels themselves?
